Here people who have been blest by the writings of Ellen White speak out to say what these books mean to them and why they personally know them to be true!

TESTIMONIAL: Without personal doubt of any kind, I attest to the truth of the "Spirit of Prophecy," within the writings of EGW, and although I have had to study the words of many on the Internet who would "have evidence against her," I have found after much study and questioning, this evidence is non-existent! Anyone having truly studied her writings with godly spiritual zeal, and a driven desire to know the truth, for it alone is able to set us free, is able to put down the supposed evidences of lies and Scriptural misquotations into the dust, recognizing the Holy Spirit's workings in leading the meek and lowly in heart into a sphere of understanding that cannot be gainsayed, though the trumpeters that would try be many, though the nay-sayers against this truth, converge on the believers even from among our very ranks! This too was prophesied! Where are they who at this point in time are able to truthfully doubt that Ellen White was not led of Yahweh's Spirit, when it is more obvious than ever before, that papal Rome has advanced to exactly where she should be, before the Dragon gives her that Seat that will have the whole world this time, bow down and adore him, in and through the Man of Sin? My desires to those who have left The Writings: Come back to the truth, for these words were penned to lead us through the Time of Trouble, that we might be that Little Family, ready to receive Jesus in His glory, without having to go through first death to do so! Will you refuse to be among us NOW, when you have traveled this great way, and the cross we've known about, be just before us? I must walk with truth, though all will tell me I have lost my mind, for I would be with Jesus!

Statement for sp.of Proph. website. (A wonderful testimony for Health Reform and Country Living!)

In March of 1991 we had a lovely baby boy. He was so perfect and beautiful and for the first 15 months of his life he never cried much. He was as happy and lively, and content as his 2 year old sister. They laughed and giggled at each other and were very responsive to being spoken to.

Then at 15 months of age I took him in to get his first round of childhood shots. He screamed for 42 hours straight not eating, not nursing, not even sleeping. I kept calling the physician, but he assured me that babies do this and all was fine. Finally he dropped into an exhausted sleep, but when he awoke he was a different child, Cross, tearful, lethargic, and most of all a clinging vine to mother, not wishing to explore his world which he had been so eager to do before.

At 18 months of age we -like trusting fools- took him in for round two of the shots. More screaming for 48 hours non-stop, then he started having seizures and the bends, I rushed him to the hospital 3 blocks away, by the time I got him there he was not breathing. They got him going again, but became upset and demanded some answers, so they brought a specialist in from another city and he began to test my son. At two weeks from the time of inoculation my son had over 110 times the amount of LIVE polio vaccine in his blood.

The new Physician told me that he would back me in court because of what they had done to my child. I had just become a S.D.A. and did not wish to sue anyone. I told him it would be o.k. that God would see us through. He then stated, "You will have a life time of trouble with this boy and if he doesn't come down with polio by 18 years of age I will be surprised." They had also found that he was hypoglycaemic from it. Causing wide mood swings and shaking first thing in the A.m.

I took him home and dropped on my knees and told the Lord that we had given him our son already and that if he was ready to take him to spare him this lifelong suffering I would understand. I begged him for help in raising the child and plead with God for wisdom to help him become normal. For years he suffered motor sensory disorder, where a light touch on the skin would cause him to scream but a hard bang he could not feel, which made it a challenge to get him to understand that kitties and sister and other things have nerves even if he did not.

He would sleep under his mattress instead of the blankets, The rod of correction never hurt, so we went to cold showers, which gave him a repentance deep and strong. But for many years now he has not even needed that for all the prayers that have ascended in his behalf. I read and reread the Sp. of Proph. books on child training, on diet, on the 8 laws of health. On over-stimulation of the child ie-T.V. and city dwelling. Determined to follow them all we gave up meat, dairy, cheese, eating in between meals, with only two meals a day.

Because of his lack of being able to sit still for more than 3 minutes I bought myself a pair of running shoes and have spent my life in the fields and garden with him. My husband got a job with very little pay but the wonderful benefits of country life working on a 3 thousand acre ranch have been outstanding. We have over 6000 different kinds of animals, cows, goats, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, etc...

I teach my children at home. Which thing has been a major challenge with my son for he has had many learning disabilities. But at 12 years of age, most of his symptoms have gone away instead of getting worse. By the age of 10 most of these children are autistic and drooling at the mouth. Due to the hydrotherapy and herbs that we have done on my son I believe that we have gotten most of the poisons out of his system.

He is taking piano lessons and excelling very well. Most people that meet him today do not realize that he has had a problem, all they can see is a very sweet, helpful boy who is very giving. All because a little lady over 100 years ago obeyed the Lord and sat down to write out the things the Lord had shown her would help the lives of those who desire blessing instead of cursings. I am thankful that the Holy Spirit that prompted her to write has prompted my heart to read and obey so that my beautiful child so damaged by sin and ignorance has a chance to grow up into Christ; a worthy vessel. Oh, by the way- My sons goal is to be a missionary pilot to the far corners of the earth if time shall last. Go Michael Go! You can do it son! Melonie

Hormone-Free Milk

Yesterday (April 26, 2003), I spoke at a church in Brooklyn, New York. The congregation was receptive to a vegetarian lecture. They were Seventh Day Adventists,
and collectively admired the work of an anti-milk pioneer, Ellen White. White warned about milk and dairy products 77 years ago, (Note-more that that more like 100 years ago.)  writing that one should "never" eat cheese. Despite that message, most practitioners had "strayed" and although they do not eat meat, dairy has become a major part of their diet.

After my one hour lecture, we enjoyed a two hour question and answer period. Each time I speak, I usually get the following question:
"Is hormone-free milk healthy?"

There is no such thing as hormone-free milk. The healthiest milk from the healthiest cow is naturally loaded with lactoferrins, immunoglobulins, steroid, and protein growth hormones. In an effort to provide their children with healthy foods, mothers and fathers search out products that are advertised to be "hormone free." Such
marketing is deceptive. When drinking body fluids from animals, or eating their flesh, you ingest their naturally occurring hormones.

The largest producer of so-called hormone-free milk in America is Horizon Farms. Horizon's organic milk contains animal fat and cholesterol, dioxins, and bacteria. The amount of somatic cells (pus) in organic milk is lower than milk from non-organic cows, but it's still dead white blood cells and dead bacteria. Ask yourself this question. Does organic human breast milk sound like a delicious drink for an adult human?

Instinctively, most people know that there are substances in breast milk that are not intended for their adult bodies. Same goes for pig's milk and dog's milk. Same for cow's milk.

Some people may not be able to tolerate lactose, a milk sugar. One hundred percent of humans are allergic to casein, a milk protein. Eighty percent of the protein in Horizon's organic dairy products is casein, the same glue used to adhere a label to a bottle of beer. Eat casein and your body produces histamines, then mucous. This sludge congests your organs. Give up all milk and dairy products for just one week and an internal "fog" will lift from your body.

Is genetically engineered milk dangerous? You bet! Organic milk contains just a little bit less of the same hormones. I find there to be very little difference between the two.

The people at Horizon want you to believe that their cows are so happy that they've trademarked the phrase "Happy Cows." Each year, one out of three Horizon happy cows are sent on a truck ride to hell, the slaughterhouse. Ask Horizon if they would allow you to become witness to the final 24 hours of a happy cow's life.

Horizon pretends to have happy cows, yet these animal's udders become so large that it is necessary to milk them three times per day. Most dairy farms milk their cows once or twice each day.

Horizon pretends to have happy family farms, but nothing could be more
distant from the truth. On March 9th, 1999, the World Street Journal wrote:

"Horizon buys about 40% of its milk from other organic-dairy operations, but it has two farms of its own, in Idaho with 3,700 milking cows, and Maryland with 500 cows. The company is looking to establish a third farm...and have a capacity for 2,000 cows..."

Folks, Horizon runs a factory-farm operation. I've investigated the Idaho farm which actually contains nearly 7,000 cows.  Each animal produces 80 pounds of body wastes daily.  That's 560,000 pounds of excrement and urine each day entering Idaho's environment.

How does Horizon fool so many people all of the time?

Ellen White's 19th Century Milk Advice

Who is Ellen White? She represents many things to many people, and she is the most translated author in the history of American literature.

In 1890, my grandmother was born in a small town in Russia, near the Polish border. During that same year, most of her family escaped the deadly pogroms which killed my great-great grandfather, and emigrated to the United States to operate a dairy farm and raise cattle for slaughter. Their farm was in Stillwell Corners, NJ. It was called the Greenberg Farm. It remained a family farm until the middle of the 20th century. My mom tells me that they milked 14 cows.

As a little girl, she also remembers feeding the chickens with homegrown corn, and digging potatoes. At about the same time my great-grandma was milking cows and churning butter, Ellen White wrote:

"Butter and meat stimulate. These have injured the stomach and perverted the taste." (Counsels on Diets and Foods, Page 48, written in 1870)

During her 70 years of writing, White produced 50,000 pages of manuscript which have been translated into 140 different languages. White was one of the spiritual founders and architects of the Seventh Day Adventist Church which today includes over 20 million members.

Seventh Day Adventists believe that Ellen White's writings are just one level below that of scripture. They have inspired a religion, and continue to inspire me. One of White's greatest works is her "Counsels On Diet and Food," edited and first published in 1938.

White makes a most convincing argument that we become what we eat. Her book includes five hundred+ pages of witticisms and intellectual arguments regarding diet. I take this opportunity to share some of my favorite passages from White's book, Counsels on Diets and Foods:

"Animals from which milk is obtained are not always healthy. They may be diseased. A cow may be apparently well in the morning, and die before night. Then she was diseased in the morning, and her milk was diseased, but you did not know it." (Page 356, written in 1870)

"Many a mother sets a table that is a snare to her family. Flesh meats, butter, cheese, rich pastry, spiced foods, and condiments are freely partaken of by both young and old. These things do their work in deranging the stomach, exciting the nerves, and enfeebling the intellect." (Page 237, written in 1890)

"Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods prepared for us in as simple and natural a manner as possible, are the  most healthful and nourishing." (Page 310, written in 1905)

"Children are allowed to eat...cheese...Parents do not realize that they are sowing the seed which will bring forth disease and death." (Page 350, written in 1873)

"Cheese should never be introduced into the stomach." (Page 368, written in 1868)

White's dietary philosophy can be summed up by these words of wisdom:

"Let it ever be kept before the mind that the great object of hygenic reform is to secure the highest possible development of mind and soul and body." (Page 23, written in 1890)

The last memory I have of my grandmother is of her resting in a hospital bed, groaning, painfully dying of a cancer that had spread from her pancreas to other internal organs. The cancer was eating her body from within. I was only 15-years-old, and cannot swear that she was a big-time dairy user. I do remember her last meal, though. She begged me for ice cream. I walked from the hospital, which was located in the South Bronx, to a small store and fulfilled her last request....

As Buffalo Bill Slew Bison, One Protester Cried

At about the same time that Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were arguing for women's rights, my friend Ellen White was writing about rights for animals. As the Ku Klux Clan organized thousands of terrorists to abuse black Americans, Ellen White was busy organizing over 100,000 Americans to love animals by not eating them.

When Buffalo Bill killed 4,000 bison during an 18 month period to feed railroad workers, Ellen White was urging her friends not to eat animal flesh.

While General Custer experienced his last stand, Ellen White took a stand for animals that was heard round the world. Today, her movement enjoys some 20 million followers.

Here are some of the things she wrote more than eighty years before I was born:

"Animals are often transported long distances and subjected to great suffering in reaching a market. Taken from the green pastures and traveling for weary miles over the hot, dusty roads, or crowded into filthy cars, feverish and exhausted, often for many hours deprived of food and water, the poor creatures are driven to their death, that human beings may feast on the carcasses."

"Some animals are inhumanly treated while being brought to the slaughter. They are literally tortured, and after they have endured many hours of extreme suffering, are butchered. Swine have been prepared for market even while the plague was upon them, and their poisonous flesh has spread contagious diseases, and great mortality has followed."

"Some animals that are brought to the slaughter seem to realize by instinct what is to take place, and they become furious, and literally mad. They are killed while in that state, and their flesh is prepared for market. Their meat is poison, and has produced, in those who have eaten it, cramps, convulsions, apoplexy, and sudden death. Yet the cause of all this suffering is not attributed to the meat."

"Could you know just the nature of the meat you eat, could you see the animals when living from which the flesh is taken when dead, you would turn with loathing from your flesh meats. The very animals whose flesh you eat, are frequently so diseased that, if left alone, they would die of themselves; but while the breath of life is in them, they are killed and brought to market. You take directly into your system humors and poison of the worst kind, and yet you realize it not."

"The light given me is that it will not be very long before we shall have to give up using any animal food. Even milk will have to be discarded. Disease is accumulating rapidly. The curse of God is upon the earth, because man has cursed it. The habits and practices of men have brought the earth into such a condition that some other food than animal food must be substituted for the human family. We do not need flesh food at all. God can give us something else."

"Often animals are taken to market and sold for food, when they are so diseased that their owners fear to keep them longer. And some of the processes of fattening them for market produce disease. Shut away from the light and pure air, breathing the atmosphere of filthy stables, perhaps fattening on decaying food, the entire body soon becomes contaminated with foul matter."

"Animals are frequently killed that have been driven quite a distance for the slaughter. Their blood has become heated. They are full of flesh, and have been deprived of healthy exercise, and when they have to travel far, they become surfeited and exhausted, and in that condition are killed for market."

"Very many animals are sold for the city market known to be diseased by those who have sold them, and those who buy them are not always ignorant of the matter. Especially in larger cities this is practiced  to a great extent, and meat eaters know not that they are eating diseased animals."

"The liability to take disease is increased tenfold by meat eating."

"Worldly physicians cannot account for the rapid increase of disease  among the human family. But we know that much of this suffering is  caused by the eating of dead flesh."

"The animals are diseased, and by partaking of their flesh, we plant the seeds of disease in our own tissue and blood."

If Ellen White was with us today, she would be 175 years old. She was truly an amazing woman, born long before her time, and I have faith that she will live forever.

The Unfinished Symphony

Although Beethoven had gone deaf, he wrote and conducted the Ninth Symphony as his own personal ode to joy. Imagine what Beethoven's Tenth might have sounded like? It remains beyond our comprehension as to what dimensions Albert Einstein would have opened while expanding upon his theory of unified fields. The most creative of imaginations would hardly do justice to the enchanted fields of flowers under starry nights that Vincent Van Gogh might have translated upon canvas had he not died at 37 years of age. Try to imagine the adult toys that Nikola Tesla or Thomas Edison might have constructed for humankind's amusement. What unique paths to peace might America have taken had FDR or JFK or MLK lived another five years?

I have recently discovered the writings of Ellen White. For seventy years, this woman of prophecy related to her followers thousands of personal revelations from God, some
lasting for a few moments and others lasting for hours. The 50,000 pages of text that she produced serve as nutritional guidance for members of the Seventh-day Adventist church. In 1868, White sensed that one day milk and dairy products would no longer be safe to consume. This was White's perception of things to come, based upon her great wisdom. She wrote:

"I wish to say that when the time comes that it is no longer safe to use milk, cream, butter, and eggs, God will reveal this." (1868)

Thirty-four years later, White had not yet received her absolute "dairy" vision, but she allowed for future prophecy by writing:

"Let the people be taught how to prepare food without the use of milk or butter. Tell them that the time will soon come when there will be no safety in using eggs, milk, cream,
or butter." (1902)

Had Ellen White been alive today, she might have written opus after opus, symphony after symphony, merging modern day science and religion, making more powerful our twenty-first century NotMilk movement. Other Ellen White quotes:

"I frequently sit down to the tables of the brethren and sisters, and see that they use a great amount of milk and sugar. These clog the system, irritate the digestive organs, and affect the brain." (1870)

"Animals from which milk is obtained are not always healthy. They may be diseased. I would recommend that people eat flesh meats sooner than large quantities of milk and sugar. It would not do the injury that milk and sugar do." (1870)

"Sugar and milk combined are liable to cause fermentation in the stomach, and are thus harmful." (1890)

"Especially harmful are the custards and puddings in which milk, eggs, and sugar are the chief ingredients. The use of milk and sugar taken together should be avoided." (1893)

"The light given me is that it will not be very long before we shall have to give up any animal food. Even milk will have to be discarded. Disease is accumulating rapidly." (1899)

"The health food business is in need of means and of the active cooperation of our people, that it may accomplish the work it ought to do. Its purpose is to supply the people with food which will take the place of flesh meat, and also milk and butter." (January 1, 1900)

"If for dessert sweet cake is eaten with milk or cream, fermentation will be created in the stomach, and then the weak points of the human organism will tell the story. The brain
will be affected by the disturbance in the stomach." (1900)

Ellen White's unfinished overture is soon to be completed, for I have been touched by a similar vision.

For me, White's treatment of nutrition represents the thunderous opening chords of Tchaikovsky's First Concerto. With a flourish, I expect to finish her unfinished work
with my own crashing finale from Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto. The resulting symphony will become our rhapsody upon a theme of NotMilk.
